About The Collective
“Celebrating the art of photography and the community that creates it.”
Our Mission
At The Photographer’s Eye, we believe that photography changes lives.
It connects us, challenges us, and expands the ways we see the world. Our organization was created to champion photography as art, as personal expression, and as a universal visual language.
Education is at the heart of what we do.
Our nonprofit mission is to cultivate the next generation of photographers by offering:
• Scholarships for high school and college students
• Free classes for kids, seniors, and at-risk community members
We are committed to building a welcoming space for everyone—whether you make photographs or simply love them. Guided by our passion for the medium, we work to inspire, educate, and lead, partnering with those who share a belief in the power and possibility of the photographic arts.
Our Story

“Founded out of a shared passion for visual storytelling, photography education, and continual learning, The Photographer’s Eye began as a small circle of artists, educators and students gathering to share their work. What started as an intimate creative community has since grown into a vibrant collective and a dedicated gallery, darkroom and event space on Grand Avenue in downtown Escondido, California.”
