Donna Cosentino has been passionate about photography since 1971, when she took her first black and white darkroom class in high school. That early experience ignited a lifelong dedication to the craft. She earned a B.A. in Art with an emphasis in Photography from San Diego State University and went on to teach Photography and Graphic Design at Palomar College from 1999 to 2017.
Donna founded The Photographers Eye Collective in 2017 to create a collaborative space for photographers to learn, create, and exhibit. She works with a range of equipment from medium format film cameras to modern digital systems, and specializes in both traditional darkroom techniques and contemporary alternative processes.
Spend 4 days photographing fall color in the Eastern Sierra with Donna Cosentino. Capture aspens, Mono Lake, and mountain landscapes in both film and digital. Includes nighttime photography sessions for star fields and light painting. Does not include lodging or transportation.
WE SHOULD HIT OCTOBER ASPENS CHANGING COLOR AT VARIOUS ELEVATIONS
IF THERE'S A HARD FREEZE THE TREES COULD BE BARE AND BEAUTIFUL
WE COULD GET A LIGHT SNOWFALL
WE SHOULD HAVE GREAT SKIES!
Spend 4 days and 3 nights with Donna Cosentino as your photography guide and mentor in the Eastern Sierra. We will be based in Lee Vining, centrally located to several great photographic opportunities including Lee Vining Creek, Mono Lake, Silver Lake, and Tuolumne Meadows or Bodie Ghost Town.
This is a great chance to take Nature at Her best and spend time with a group of photographers who have the same kind of passion for photographing these locations. Three full days of shooting plus there will be one or two night-time outings at Mono Lake for star fields, star trails and painting with light as well.
As I am strong on Black and White film shooting, I encourage you to bring your 35mm, 120mm, or 4x5 cameras. In the field we can discuss seeing in Black and White, light meter use and proper exposure for tones. I also like to spend time on composition and use of Depth of Field. Of course, Digital cameras are welcome as well and they are g r e a t for nighttime work!
I will give you a full itinerary before we go, maps and directions, and you will know how to prepare and what to bring for a successful experience.
Does not include lodging or transportation
